CVBC Acts 18:18-28

Nov 16, 2025    Luke Wartgow

In Acts 18, we discover a beautiful chain of discipleship that reveals how God uses ordinary believers to multiply His kingdom work. The narrative follows Paul's completion of his second missionary journey and introduces us to Apollos, an eloquent and scripture-competent teacher who nonetheless had an incomplete understanding of Jesus. What unfolds is a masterclass in humble learning and courageous teaching. Priscilla and Aquila, a married couple who had been discipled by Paul, took Apollos aside privately and explained the way of God more accurately to him. This wasn't public correction or shaming, but loving investment. The result? Apollos became a powerful force for the gospel in Corinth, refuting opposition and showing from Scripture that Jesus is the Christ.
