CVBC Acts 23:1-35

Mar 8, 2026    Luke Wartgow

The sermon explored Acts 23, where we witnessed Paul facing intense opposition and uncertainty. After being arrested in Jerusalem and nearly torn apart by a violent council meeting, Paul found himself in a dark prison cell, possibly wondering if his ministry was coming to an end. Yet in that very moment, Jesus stood by him with words of encouragement: "Take courage." This historical narrative reminds us that even in our darkest nights of the soul—when we're discouraged, exhausted, or unsure of God's direction—Jesus is present, aware, and actively working out His perfect plan. The implications for our spiritual life are profound: we are never alone, never forgotten, and called to live courageously for Christ even when His ways differ from our expectations.
