CVBC Acts 21:1-16
Acts 21:1-16 confronts us with a profound question: what does it truly mean to follow God's will, even when the path leads through suffering? We journey alongside Paul as he makes his way to Jerusalem, fully aware that imprisonment and affliction await him. What's remarkable is that the Holy Spirit doesn't hide this reality from Paul or the believers around him—yet Paul remains resolute. This narrative challenges our modern tendency to equate God's will with comfort and ease. We see prophets like Agabus dramatically demonstrating what will happen to Paul, and well-meaning Christians pleading with him not to go. But Paul makes a crucial distinction: just because suffering is predicted doesn't mean it's prohibited by God. His response is striking—'I am ready not only to be imprisoned, but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.' This passage invites us to examine our own hearts: are we more concerned with being comfortable or being missional?
