CVBC Acts 21:17-26
The sermon explored Paul's arrival in Jerusalem and his meeting with James and the church elders. Through this historical narrative, we examined three critical areas of Christian life: celebrating what God is doing (gospel celebrations), understanding the relationship between law and gospel, and maintaining a heart for gospel mission. Paul's willingness to participate in Jewish purification rituals—not to compromise the gospel, but to remove unnecessary barriers to ministry—teaches us about walking carefully with both truth and love. This passage reminds us that our salvation rests entirely on what Christ has done, not on our own works, while also challenging us to be thoughtful about how we relate to fellow believers who may be at different stages of spiritual maturity.
