CVBC Matthew 6:10 "Your Kingdom Come"

Jun 7, 2026    Luke Wartgow

This sermon explored how profoundly God-centered Jesus' instruction on prayer truly is, calling us to shift our focus from ourselves to Him and His purposes. We discovered that the kingdom of God—God's people in God's place under God's rule and blessing—is both a present reality and a future hope. Through parables like the sower, the wheat and weeds, and the mustard seed, Jesus teaches us that His kingdom grows through unexpected means: through the proclamation of the gospel, through sacrifice and meekness, and through a crucified and risen King. When we pray "your will be done," we're submitting our human desires to God's greater, wiser, perfect will—the same submission Jesus modeled in Gethsemane. We're praying for the purity and perfection of heaven to break into our earthly reality, both now in part and one day in full.
