CVBC 2 Corinthians 8:1-15 "Of Grace"

Sep 6, 2026    Glenn Orr

This sermon explored Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 8:1-15, where he holds up the Macedonian churches as a striking example of grace-driven generosity. Though living in extreme poverty, these believers begged for the opportunity to contribute to the needs of the Jerusalem church. Pastor Glenn unpacked how this kind of generosity is not the result of obligation or pressure, but flows naturally from a deep understanding of who we are in Christ. Because Jesus became poor so that we might become rich in grace, we are freed to give of ourselves, our time, our talents, and our resources, not out of compulsion, but out of an overflow of what God has already given us. This truth has profound implications for how we engage with one another as a church body and how we steward everything God has placed in our hands.
