CVBC Micah 1:8-16 "Micah's Lament"

This sermon on Micah 1:8-16, in which the prophet Micah turns his attention from the judgment announced against the northern kingdom of Israel to the southern kingdom of Judah. Through poetic wordplay on the names of various towns and cities, Micah warns Judah that the same spirit of rebellion and idolatry that destroyed Samaria has now reached their gates. Yet the passage does not leave us without hope. Drawing on the historical account of King Hezekiah in 2 Kings 19, we were reminded that God hears the prayers of those who cast themselves fully on Him, and that all of Micah's words ultimately point us toward the greater redemption found in Jesus Christ.
