CVBC Colossians 3:12-17 "Thanksgiving"

Aug 16, 2026    Luke Wartgow

This sermon explored the theme of thanksgiving as a defining mark of the Christian life, drawing from Colossians 3:12-17. Pastor Luke walked us through what it means to let the peace of Christ rule our hearts and how that peace naturally overflows into a posture of gratitude, both toward God and toward one another. Thanksgiving, rightly understood, is not a seasonal sentiment or a forced duty, but a Spirit-shaped orientation of the heart that flows from a clear understanding of who God is and what He has done for us in Christ. The sermon also examined how corporate worship, including preaching, prayer, and singing, is designed by God to cultivate and sustain that thankfulness in us week after week.
