CVBC Joshua 24:15 "Worship"
In week 1 of the 'Gospel Home' sermon series, we're challenged to consider the true focus of our homes and lives. Drawing from Joshua 24, particularly verse 15, we're reminded of Joshua's bold declaration: 'As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.' This isn't just about believing in God, but about building our entire lives around Him. The sermon explores how the Israelites' journey from slavery to the Promised Land mirrors our own spiritual journey from bondage to freedom in Christ. We're called to respond to God's grace by choosing whom we will serve, recognizing that everyone worships something. The message challenges us to identify and put away the false gods in our lives - whether they're from our past or present culture - and to incline our hearts fully to the Lord. This isn't about perfection, but about allowing the Gospel to be the center that everything else revolves around, affecting our marriages, parenting, finances, and daily rhythms.
